How we talk about reverse mortgages
A reverse mortgage is a loan — not a government benefit, not free money, and not a guaranteed way to stay in a home. Borrowers must keep paying property taxes, insurance and upkeep and live in the home, and the loan becomes due when they leave, sell or pass away.
The licensing boundary
Reverse mortgage consultations and applications are licensed activities that also require product-specific training and company approval. Until then, your role is education and approved business development only.
